SciCAPS was founded by two team members of Paranormal Pulse with the idea of creating a community of paranormal researchers who believe that to advance this area of research we have to join together and share ideas, thoughts and data. We believe that to many in this field are to secretive and unwilling to help each other. We do believe that by sharing ideas and communicating we can make headway in this field. So as the name says, applying "Scientific" methods and being "Cooperative" is the basic idea and we believe that applying these techniques and working together we can have "Advancement" in the field of "Paranormal Studies".

Paranormal Investigation and Research has ground to a halt over the past several years because we as paranormal researchers have become dormant and far too reliant on old methods, techniques, equipment, and ideas.

Our proposal is to provide a location to collect data shared by SciCAPS members so it can be reviewed and studied by our members.

I think we can all agree that the key to finding answers is through data collection, testing theories and analysis.  This is what SciCAPS is all about. Take for instance the Electromagnetic theory; Electromagnetic theory is the idea that spirits or ghosts cause a spike or fluctuation in the electromagnetic field.  This theory has been around for years, and it’s a theory that has never been proven to be associated with paranormal activity, and yet for years we have been measuring the field looking for ghosts.   With the help of our members SciCAPS intends to challenge this and other theories in an attempt to provide participating members with the information needed to advance Paranormal Research into the 21st century and beyond.  In order to prove or dis-prove these theories we need to test them by collecting data that may or may not show a connection to paranormal activity.  SciCAPS is not asking that groups reveal or disclose their investigations; we simply want to share data and ideas that may point this field in the right direction and put us on the track to discovery.

Why not take full advantage of this avenue to learn from each other?

As a member of SciCAPS, you will have access to all the data that is shared by other members, access to forums and chat rooms that keep the typical chat room garbage out so we can all stay on topic.  You will have access to experiences and new concepts, keep up on experiments other members are conducting, and actively participate in jump starting this field of study.
